Description

Position Purpose:

At Saint Mary’s Hospital, the Pre/Post Surgery Registered Nurse RN in the Same Day Surgery Center delivers patient care for same-day surgeries.

What You Will Do

• A fast-paced unit that prepares patients for surgery provides education and follows universal protocol. The nurse RN will also provide phase 2 assessment, teaching, and discharge instructions.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. A preference is given to candidates with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing BSN degree.
• Registered Nurse RN Licensure: Must hold a valid and current Connecticut registered nurse licensure.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of Pre/Post Surgery or PACU nursing experience is required. Position WILL NOT train.
• BLS or CPR certification: Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross will be accepted.
• Certifications: ACLS certification is preferred or should be within six months of hire.
