Registered Nurse- Adult Medicine New

We are recruiting for an outstanding community based non profit that is looking for Registered Nurses. Since 1970, they have existed to provide comprehensive health care services to the residents of Hartford and Windsor. This RN will provide professional nursing care to our female population in accordance with health center established standards and practices.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

Minimum educational qualifications required

• Associate’s degree in Nursing
• Valid State of Connecticut Registered Nurse license
• CPR certification at the healthcare provider level or eligible to obtain certification within 90 days of hire

Preferred knowledge/experience required beyond minimum qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
• Experience working with socioeconomically diverse, multiethnic populations
• Written and oral proficiency in Spanish
• Written and oral proficiency in a language other than English

Other key factors

• Knowledge of medications and their effects on patients
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Outlook
• High level of comfort entering information into electronic health records
• Knowledge of population health concepts and the role of nursing within a PCMH team
• Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision
• ionKnowledge of patient education principles to assist the patient in developing a self-care program
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Ability to maintain focus, objectivity and professionalism in stressful situation
• Demonstrate a high level of professionalism at all times, including a professional appearance
• Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment with competing and/or changing priorities
• Must be able to travel to various work-site locations on demand
