POSITION: School Nurse (RN) – Various Locations

                                                    

REPORTS TO: Principal and Coordinator of Health Services

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Provide general health care services to students.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Graduate of an accredited school for registered nurses, BSN preferred.
  • Successful experience as a school nurse preferred.
  • Experience with nursing procedures (tracheotomy, G-tube feeding, catheterization, diabetic care, etc.) highly preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of school health procedures including state and federal mandates.
  • Desire and demonstrated ability to work with school-aged children.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Current and valid State of Connecticut Registered Nurse license

Current and valid CPR certification

SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary in accordance with Hartford Federation of School Health Professionals (2015-2018) - Appendix A, Salary Schedule 5A: ($43,754-$67,150). 10-month work year.
